Kappa Tau Epsilon was founded on March 20, 1982. The sorority received their charter on December 4, 2004 at Saginaw Valley State University, and is the only local sorority on the campus of SVSU. We stand for love, unity and friendship, with an aim at academic achievement and philanthropic endeavors. Kappa Tau Epsilon collaborates with other organizations on campus, both Greek and non-Greek, as well as organizations in the surrounding communities.
The sisters of Kappa Tau Epsilon have a wide range of personalities and interests and find ways to be active outside of the sorority. A variety of sisters are involved with Delta Sigma Pi, Honors Programs, The Foundation Scholars Program, Club Sports, Intramural Sports, Marching Band, Habitat for Humanity, Alternative Breaks, Alpha Phi Omega, and many other organizations! Kappa Tau Epsilon is extremely involved in Battle of the Valleys, Homecoming, Relay for Life, and other events on campus.
We have recruitment for potential new members once every Fall and Winter semester. Kappa Tau Epsilon is recognized annually on campus. We have been named the "Greek Organization of the Year" for 2016 and 2017 and are so humbled and excited to hold that title. In 2017 and 2019 we were awarded the "Outstanding Philanthropic Award" and in 2017 the "Outstanding Leadership Award". In the past, we also have received the "Greek Program of the Year" Award and the "Organization of the Year Award". In 2019 we received the title of Outstanding Fraternity and Sorority Life Program. Furthermore, Kappa Tau Epsilon won the title of Homecoming Champion in both 2012 and 2013 and placed in the top 5 in 2017.
We look forward to getting to know you at recruitment! We hope you go Greek & find your home away from home!
